Use of Emerging Technologies for Rural India (Published Paper) Amitabh Kumar Sinha, B.Sc. (Engg), FIE, Ranchi, India, amit1950@yahoo.co.in Abstract – Some of the most pressing and urgent question, which mankind faces today are the future availability and cost of the energy supplies. Are the available resources sufficient to meet the growing demand of energy? Will the decline in the conventional source of energy affect the quality of living in rural India? Concern being expressed today for searching more and more renewable source of energy stems largely from the fact that the mankind today depends predominantly on fossil fuels such as coal, gas or petroleum products. Availability of these fuels is dwindling and may be consumed fully within a foreseeable future. Other concern about use of fossil fuels is its effect on environment and carbon foot prints.
